Winter: An Underground Time

Excerpt from Editor’s Letter: The origins of this zine came from an open call for radio shows/ sound essays/ mixes on the theme of ‘winter’, which was broadcast on No Bounds Radio during the strange slump between Christmas and New Year. Before making the call out, I drafted some notes on my phone to help figure out what we wanted people to think about. One of the first things I wrote out was a quote from Jessica Dore, describing winter as a time where 'everything is hard or hiding underground, it is a chthonic and underground time'. The broadcast and zine demonstrate the diversity of what it means to survive, or to flourish- in spite of things that keep us frozen or stuck.
